I hope that all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Thanksgiving was designed to take time away from work and responsibilities to reflect on what we have and what we should be grateful for. If we are always taking the time to focus on what we are working towards or what we have not yet achieved, we never see the many blessings that are right in front of us.
I took a challenge from one of our teachers to write one thing that they were thankful for each day until Thanksgiving. Here is the ten that I shared with the KES students and staff for the last 10 days of school before Thanksgiving.
# 10 - Monday, November 9th : A job at a school where I get to work with wonderful teachers and super students each day.
#9 - Tuesday, November 10th: People that I work with that love kids !
#8 - Wednesday, November 11th : A country that celebrates and honors the people who have sacrificed for my freedoms.
#7 - Thursday, November 12th: Kennedy Elementary School teachers who work hard each day even when they are exhausted to give kids the best education possible.
#6 - Friday, November 13th: Opportunities to grow each day and that includes the struggles I have because they make me stronger.
#5 - Monday, November 16th: My parents who gave me so much so I could be the person I am today.
#4 - Tuesday, November 17th: Good Health
#3 - Wednesday, November 18th: Living in the United States where I have freedoms to express myself.
#2 - Thursday, November 19th: My wonderful wife and children. They bring so much joy to my life.
#1 - Friday, November 20th: A God that provides for me everyday! I am so blessed!
I could think of many more, but those were my top 10. I challenge each of you to do the same. It will really make your Thanksgiving meaningful. Happy Thanksgiving.
