Kennedy Elementary School had a very busy Friday the 13th. The morning started off with our first of 2 Dads Volunteer Day. We had over 20 dads that came into help set up Christmas trees, plant pansies, put together food packages for Thanksgiving, and cleaning up our Dragon's Trail. It was nice to see so many dads helping out their child's school. Their help was so much appreciated!
Our 4th grade had Beth Woodward from the Atlanta History Center come and speak to them about the early colonists and how we became a country. It was very interesting to see the primary sources that Ms. Woodward brought into to the school. I especially liked how Ms. Woodward was able to have our 4th graders "relive" the colonists meeting the natives. Thanks to Ms. Ballard for organizing this experience for her students.
The night ended with our first school dance. DJ Osborne came out to Kennedy once again and played some fantastic music for our families to dance to. It was great to see so many families at the school Friday Night enjoying themselves.
